1. Splurge a little

A little gift to yourself can be an amazing pick-me-up. But watch out, don’t spend your month’s salary buying new Louboutins! That will not alleviate your financial misery. Give yourself a budget of $30, instead. Spend it on buying yourself a new shade of eye shadow, or a new scarf.

2. Hike or bike

Doing an intense workout routine after your tiring day can leave you even more wiped out. Instead, try taking a hike or take a casual bike ride – this burns calories (so there’s no worry of the absence of a workout) and makes you feel revitalized and fresh.

3. Disconnect yourself

We all know that in this day and age, the internet, phones and computers are unavoidable. The harness of the social media, the constant stream of texts and e-mails can make you feel stuffy and constantly surrounded. But here’s the thing – take a day off. Or even a couple of hours. Sit back with a magazine; or go to the beach. Enjoy the freedom from your news feed on Facebook and loosen up with a drink.

4. Pamper yourself

Get a massage or a pedicure. They make great treats; on your most anxiety-ridden days, get a Swedish massage or a 10-minute pedicure. Get a spa treatment – it makes you feel fresh and reinvigorated.

5. Dance

Crank up the music, go to the privacy of your room, and dance. 15 minutes after your best cha-cha, you will feel so active invigorated. Bring it on.

7. Meditation

Meditation is a quick way to relieve tension and anxiety. It makes you calm and clears your mind. Taking a tai-chi class or counting backwards from 100 in your head can make you feel extremely calm and soothes your entire body. And plus, the emotional and physical benefits are out of this world.
